Vacation and TS Fay

Well, we are back from the sunny state of Florida....only the sunshine state didn't deliver a full week of sunshine. We had a great trip--not the trip we had planned but we made the most of it. Our resort was great--tons of things to do if the weather happened to be bad.....Sunday and Monday were great...we did the ocean, lazy river, kids water playground, and both big pools. Tuesday the pools were closed because of the high winds but we played on the beach--the girls meet their beach friend Haley--so no one wanted to leave the ocean....but FINALLY the lure of going to lunch together got them off the beach!!! So the next 3 days were spent playing in the arcade, miniature golf and swimming--much of it with Haley--and all without leaving our building!!! We experienced high winds and REALLY high winds--it was amazing and an experience we will never forget! Natural weather acts are truly amazing and it was such a reminder that God is in control and His amazing plan and power. I spent a lot of the week thinking about His design of everything great and small. We had a lot of good family time and Thomas and I had a lot of good conversations and time together. We missed him when he had to go back to work yesterday.

Something we take for granted here...in the south.....I met a lady from NJ one day. I had asked her about a book she was reading that I had read....her response was "So, you know Jesus? My daughter met someone from Alabama that knows Jesus. That is great....we don't met many people in NJ that know Jesus." It was very weird--like being in a foreign country. She asked about our church....I told her that we had many in our area--we are in the 'Bible Belt' and there are churches on every corner....she told me if they were unhappy with their church--they had to drive 30-45 minutes to find another one to visit. So two things I have taken for granted--easy access to churches and people that know who Jesus is......
